Walk to School Week 2022 - Power up was a success!

WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK 2022 SAW OVER 200,000 PUPILS AND THEIR FAMILIES STEPPING OUT AND WALKING TO SCHOOL FOR A WHOLE WEEK!

This year’s challenge, #PowerUp, engaged pupils through video game-inspired designs, encouraging them to travel sustainably to school every day of the week. Each day saw a level unlocked and a new mission to complete, through which pupils discovered the incredible benefits walking can bring to individuals, communities and the planet.

Walk to School Week is a five-day walking challenge in which children are rewarded for walking, wheeling, cycling or scooting to school every day of the week. During the challenge they share their experiences with classmates through our interactive activity packs.

Across the week, we also walked to school with some very special guests, including Steve Rotheram, Mayor of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority; Mark Drakeford, First Minister of Wales; Martin Whitfield MSP; and not to forget our extra special mascot, Strider!

We were overjoyed to see so many schools joining joining us. This year, we were able to reach

AROUND 750 SCHOOLS!

The packs were fantastic, the wall charts were visually nice to look at and the children enjoyed putting the stickers on the chart. They loved taking the stickers home and liked having a sticker per day.
