UPTON-BY-CHESTER LOCAL GROUP
Upton-by-Chester Local Group started in July 2021, and our aim is to increase and improve everyday walking around our local area, for everyone.
Upton-by-Chester is a suburb of Chester, and it has local schools, shops and other facilities. Our group covers the area defined as the Upton Ward of the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester.
WHAT WE'RE DOING
We're focusing on small actions that might make a big difference, and the topics we've selected to start with are the following:
• Walking to school
• Pavement and verge parking
• Overhanging hedges
• Safe walking access to local leisure and other facilities, including Chester Zoo
• Extending 20 mph streets
Together with local people and the Borough Council, Upton-by-Chester Living Streets Local Group have re-created a very pleasant, green pathway leading to Upton village, schools and bus routes known as The Twitchell.
